Description
The HIT-RHTS indicator is designed to assess the moisture content of plastic granules. It is used in the control of technological processes requiring a specific moisture content of the plastic (e.g., in injection molding machines).
To measure the moisture content of granules:
- insert the electrode into the container with the plastic,
- turn on the device and wait for the temperature to stabilize.
The device will indicate the humidity and temperature of the air in equilibrium with the plastic granules. The following can be assumed:
- for non-hygroscopic plastics (PS, PVC, PE, PP) – the material is dry if the readings are below 40%,
- for hygroscopic plastics (ABS, PA6, PBPT, PC, PMMA) – the material is dry if the readings are below 10%.
