Portable multiparameter instruments
Our portable multi-parameter instruments are designed to offer a compact solution for the simultaneous measurement of multiple process and industrial parameters. The products in the range are customizable: depending on the probe selected they will be able to simultaneously measure parameters such as differential pressure, air speed, humidity, temperature and much more! Thanks to our certified internal laboratory, we are able to certify and repair all the instrumentation we treat.
Technical FAQ:
Portable multiparameter instruments
What is a multi-parameter portable instrument?
It is a portable measuring device capable of acquiring and managing multiple physical quantities simultaneously, thanks to the integration of multiple internal sensors or the use of specific interchangeable probes.
What is a multi-parameter portable instrument used for?
It is used to perform complete inspections and environmental or plant diagnostics with a single instrument, reducing intervention times, simplifying logistics and correlating multiple parameters in real time (e.g. temperature + humidity + air velocity + CO₂ in HVAC checks).
In which sectors is a multi-parameter instrument used?
It is used in HVAC and indoor air quality, energy audits, IAQ (Indoor Air Quality), food controls, GMP pharmaceutical, quality control, precision agriculture, research, and in all inspection activities requiring multiple simultaneous measurements.
When to choose a multi-parameter instead of a single-parameter instrument?
The multi-parameter is chosen when activities frequently require multiple quantities in the same intervention, when parameters need to be correlated (e.g. thermohygrometric comfort), when you want to reduce the number of instruments to be transported. The single-parameter is preferable for maximum accuracy on a single measurement.
Which parameters can be measured simultaneously?
Depending on the model: temperature, humidity, air velocity, differential pressure, CO, CO₂, VOC, illuminance, sound, vibration, electrical quantities. The most common combinations are for HVAC (T, RH, m/s, CO₂), for IAQ (T, RH, CO₂, VOC, particulate)
and for energy audits.
How do interchangeable probes work?
The probes are "smart" modules with sensor, conditioning electronics and internal memory containing the calibration coefficients. They connect to the base instrument via digital connector or wireless: the instrument automatically recognizes the probe and loads its parameters, allowing switching from one quantity to another in seconds.
Are multi-parameter portable instruments compatible with reporting software?
Yes, professional models interface with dedicated PC software or mobile apps that acquire data, generate graphs, field reports and historical archiving of measurements for each client or inspected site.
Can multi-parameter portable instruments perform certified energy audits?
Yes, professional multi-parameter instruments are used for energy audits according to UNI CEI EN 16247 and for mandatory energy diagnosis (D.Lgs. 102/2014 in Italy, transposing EU Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency) for large enterprises and energy-intensive companies. They are integrable with dedicated energy management solutions.
Do multi-parameter portable instruments have integrated datalogging functions?
Yes, they simultaneously record multiple channels with internal memory up to thousands of data sets, with sampling frequency configurable from seconds to hours. For long-term acquisitions, a dedicated data logger is still preferable.
Can multi-parameter portable instruments be used for thermal comfort measurements?
Yes, advanced multi-parameter instruments calculate comfort indices according to UNI EN ISO 7730 (PMV, PPD - Predicted Mean Vote, Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied), WBGT (heat stress in hot environments) and air quality indices, starting
from simultaneous measurements of operating temperature, RH, air velocity and radiant temperature.
What does IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) mean?
IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) is the quality of air in enclosed environments, evaluated by simultaneously measuring CO₂, CO, VOC (volatile organic compounds), particulate (PM2.5, PM10), humidity and temperature. It is a key parameter for well-being and
health in school, healthcare, tertiary and residential buildings.
Are multi-parameter portable instruments more expensive than single-parameter ones?
Yes, the price is higher than a single instrument, but generally lower than the purchase of multiple equivalent single-parameter devices. The operational advantage must also be considered: a single instrument to carry, calibrate, manage and maintain.
